The Blueair 450E is one of Blueair’s electronic air purification units. Product Notes:

• The Blueair 450E effectively removes 99.97% of all particles 0.1 micron or larger in size from the air, including mold spores, pet dander, dust mite allergen, pollen, volatile organic compounds, gaseous contaminants and odors from smoke, pets and cooking.
• This Blueair air purifier is effective in rooms up to 365 square feet.

• SmokeStop Filter -The SmokeStop filter is a progressive carbon filter with a honeycomb-type structure that improves airflow and has hundreds of odor and gas absorbing carbon pellets. How HEPASilent Works:

1. Air is drawn into the Blueair system via its ultra-quiet fan.
2. Airborne particles pass through an ion chamber and are electrically charged. This causes them to adhere effortlessly to Blueair's exclusive polypropylene filters.
3. Charged particles are removed in the 3-stage Progressive Filter. Stage 1 captures larger particles like pollen and dust. Stages 2 and 3 filter the smallest particles like cigarette smoke* and exhaust. Together, the encapsulated ion chamber and 3-stage Filtration Process combine to create Blueair's patented HEPASilent technology - delivering maximum airflow with minimum noise.

*No air purifier or air cleaner can eliminate the hazardous contaminants, or the harmful effects of second hand smoke. The best defense is a smoke-free environment.

•   Bill - 2/22/11 0:36 am I purchased one unit then a second and a third. They run extremely quiet and very simple to set up. I've developed a lung problem and needed to try something quick. I won't know if they are helping or not, but I know that they are not hurting anything and can only be assisting. Filters are expensive and so is the price for the unit. Putting that aside, they are doing what I wanted them to do - filtering the air. In the Automatic mode they respond to very, very sensitive conditions and go into a high fan mode and reduce speed auto back to low when not needed. Mostly because of odors. I have no need for the remote control and I am not sure who would. I do like the clean look. I also wonder how long it will stay so sensitive. The little blue light helps as a night light too.
