This Filtrete furnace filter may actually be from 4" to 4 3/8" deep, and this is true of similar furnace air filters from most other manufacturers. So please measure your opening or your present filter to make sure this one will fit.

PJ - 6/27/11 22:33 pm I have purchased filters from other sites that are advertised as 20x20x4 but they are not really that large. They might be a little cheaper but this filter is the right size for my furnace slot and so I feel like the air that enters my furnace and my home has pretty much all gone through the filter and not around it. The house does not get much dust and the filter lasts us for a year.

Linda - 4/21/10 9:24 am We noticed a difference soon after installing this filter. The humidity began to drop from 66% to 45%, which made the house feel more comfortable at a more energy efficient temp. We don't have a dehumidifier and had been considering that investment. But now it's not necessary. We just needed a better filter, apparently.
