Product Notes:

• Because allergen protection is the number one reason to purchase pillow and mattress encasings, Elegance covers are made from a high performance, 100% polyester microfiber fabric that blocks all dust mite allergen and most other particles as small as cat dander.
• They offer all of this protection while remaining breathable and cool beneath your sheets, so you always sleep comfortably.
• Mattress covers can only trap bed bugs that are hiding on your mattress. You should also encase your box springs in an economical BedCare DuraTEK encasing to complete your bedding protection for both bed bugs and allergens. However, these covers will not protect you from other bed bugs hiding in your bedroom. For complete elimination of bed bugs from your bedroom and your home, you will need to contact a pest extermination specialist who understands how to rid your home of bed bugs.

Best Steps for Bed Bug Control:

To protect you from bed bugs and to prevent bed bug infestation of your mattress and box spring, cover your bedding in BedCare encasings that have the BugShield System.

The BugShield Zipper-Lock locks the zipper tab in place so that it will NOT backtrack to leave small openings that bed bugs could get through. The BugShield Bug Blocker is an added measure that closes the last inch or so of the zipper from below to doubly ensure that bedbugs will not be able to get in or out of the encasing. The BedCare fabrics and seams have always been impenetrable to bed bugs as well as dust mites.

•   Jody - 8/3/10 22:35 pm This mattress cover is oversized for my Cal-King Tempurpedic mattress (a deep mattress with a topper). I didn't mind that because it made it easier to slip onto the heavy mattress however is has torn along the seam. The fabric may be tightly woven but it is also thin...and slippery so it moves around.
  
  The stitching did not come apart, the fabric itself tore next to the seam. Which also has me wondering, why are the stitches 1/8" apart? That's regular stitch length. I would have thought they needed to be closer together to keep the mites from escaping.
  
  BTW it is tearing where the edge of the mattress is, at the spot where I sit just before getting into bed (or out of bed). If the mattress were a clock the fray would be at 9 o'clock.
