The Austin Air HealthMate Plus offers ozone-free filtration to reduce the level of particles and chemicals in the air, and also remove harmful gasses and odors to give you clean air and peace of mind. This means that the Austin Air HealthMate Plus machine not only removes gases, vapors and fumes, but also more reactive volatile organic chemicals like ammonia and formaldehyde.

•   Steve - 12/28/11 11:18 am We moved to a high-rise after 30 years in houses. Any smell (good or bad) tends to stay in a condo. So after a lot of research we bought the healthmate plus. It is an excellent product. Runs all the time. Cleans the air and helps with lingering odors. Two big surprises. Wake up every morning not stuffed up. I didn't expect this, but love how I can breath in the morning. Second is the white noise. The sound blocks out any small noise from the city...you sleep sound since you are not hearing noise in the morning. My wife hates any noise so I didn't plan to put this unit in the bedroom, but they recommend it for the best location. She loves it. Any city sounds to wake her up are gone. I also like the larger unit with wheels. Sometimes we will roll it out into the living room, turn it on high and leave for work and return to a "fresh" smelling condo. Strongly recommend.

•   Meg - 2/11/11 13:27 pm I received this product several months ago and have been waiting before I review it. I have very bad MCS-I couldn't even sleep in my apartment because the smell of the heat was making it very difficult for me to breathe. My husband has nicknamed this product my "little buddy", and I wheel it into any room where a smell is bothering me. Now I can sleep at night, so to me that's a great success-and price-wise, compared to similar products it was definitely the best buy.
  Note: The carbon filter does give a very faint sweet smell to the air, but I am allergic to wood, dust, paper, you name it, and it doesn't bother me. However it's a good idea to buy it from National Allergy because there is the 100 percent guarantee, so you can always return it if it bothers you.
