In fact, it removes 99.97% of airborne allergens as well as absorb odors, gases, vapors, and chemicals. The unit comes ready to plug in and purify your air! To maintain maximum cleaning capacity, simply vacuum the outer surface of the unit monthly (you do not need to open the unit) using the brush attachment of your vacuum cleaner to remove dust from the outside of the unit and large particles from the prefilter. Both the pre-filter and HEPA Filter should last up to 5 years in a non-smoking household.
