Once your encasing is out of the package, the initial vinyl smell will dissipate.

If the odor is particularly strong to you, we suggest airing the encasing for 1-2 days in open air or sunshine prior to use.

•   Jason - 2/24/10 15:55 pm Used this for about 6 months. Not only did the plastic have tears similar to the other descriptions, but worse yet, the vinyl does not allow the mattress to breathe. After 6 months when cleaning the cover for our tempurpedic mattress, we found a TON of black mold on the bottom. After talking to people, they said the vinyl doesn't breathe, and if it doesn't breathe, you will get mold and mildew. Well, we do! So, unless you want to buy a new mattress (another unexpected lump of $$$), do not use this! Ever!

•   Doug - 1/17/10 19:29 pm I ordered two of these almost two years ago and when I went to put the first one on my boxspring I discovered the seam was broke open on one end. I returned it and they sent me a new one free of charge.
  
  After getting both of these covers on my bed I discovered the one they sent me had a broken seam as well. I was too tired to take it off and return it again. Besides, these things are hard to get on your bed. Now I have discovered that the other cover is coming apart at the seams.
  
  I will never buy from this place again. If you read this please be wary - the quality of these products is very poor.

•   VR - 9/26/09 17:03 pm I ordered this from National Allergy Supply. The zipper splits into two, and is malfunctioning. They did not perform careful quality control. I am returning the item for a refund.
