My daughter who has a severe dust mite allergy uses a body pillow along the back of her daybed... it had a "furry" covering that was not removable. So we opened it up & took out all of the stuffing putting it into the encasement, then washed the furry cover & put it back over the encasement closing it with some snaps (easy to put on). Now we can remove it and wash it when needed. You can't even tell the encasement is there but I am sure that she sleeps better with all of the pillows covered.
