•   TY - 3/27/13 1:13 am We used this for about 10 years and when we went to wash it, the rubbery film separated from the exterior layer... for a king size, that was a lot of money down the drain. It made me wonder how long it had been separated and potentially not working to keep dustmites from proliferating in the mattress.

•   Miles - 1/14/12 16:34 pm After using this cover for a little over a month, the only issue I have with it is that I perspire while I sleep. Since this is happening during the winter/cooler months, I'm worried that this may get worse during the summer months. This never happened prior to the installation of this cover.

•   BusyMary - 8/3/11 12:47 pm I considered giving my rating a 4 as the cover does not fit super well. What it does do is what it is designed to do. It does fit over various depths of mattresses (thus why many think it is too large, that is part of the design) including mine with a 3" tempeurpedic foam topper. The zipper closes well and stays completely closed. The fabric is soft, does not sound or feel crinkly and does not appear to affect the feel of the mattress. The reason I went to 5 is my personal experience with another cover I have owned for almost 10 years. It is still completely useful and intact. Amazing it has lasted the test of time as well as the abuse of the kids. It is now being used on our futon and although not the prettiest cover, it was an amazing value for this high quality product.

•   Kathleen - 7/2/11 13:05 pm I bought the mattress cover at the suggestion of my doctor because I have dust mite allergies. It seems to have helped (I'm breathing more easily and sleeping better), and while I was worried that I might hear or feel something different with the cover on, that hasn't been the case. It was also very easy to put the cover on the mattress and zip it up.

•   Crystal - 7/1/11 16:40 pm We don't have allergy issues, so I can't speak to that aspect. I purchased two of these to cover two memory foam mattresses. Using a mattress pad seemed to affect the "sink in" ability, and since I needed something between the sheets and the mattress, I wanted to give this a try.
  I was worried it might not fit since the mattresses are both 12", and that is the max height for the cover. I thought it might be too tight a squeeze, but it went on perfectly! And as there is some give in the casing, the mattress works better too. Also, my 1-1/2 year old has had a couple accidents on the mattress, but has not soaked through the casing! I did catch it immediately, so maybe if it had had time to sit, it could have soaked through. The mattress cover does say "water RESISTANT" which is different than "water PROOF". But I'm very pleased.
  On the downside there is a slight rustling sound and it makes the sheets slip around on the mattress a little more. You also have to be very careful to press all the air out of the mattress before zipping it up all the way or it will poof out on you. But overall it is just what I needed. Great product!

•   allergy be gone - 5/27/11 8:13 am one word...AMAZING! Prior to this, my son didn't know what it was like to have a good night sleep. Even the first night we noticed a difference! We used this, and also got the pillow cover and vent covers for his room. He is 5 so we went with this particular cover just in-case there are any accidents at night.

•   Jana - 4/5/10 14:53 pm I've had one of these on my bed since about 1992, it was called something else but is basically the same, ordered it from here. Two yrs. ago I got one for my daughter's twin bed and its been great, recently I ordered one for my crib mattress for our grandbaby to use, don't know why I didn't think of ordering it when my daughter was an infant. I try to wash them at least once a year, more if needed as in case of an accident, there is no leaking but I want to get the odor out of the top of the encasing, it protects that mattress below wonderfully. I have recently put a mattress pad on there so I won't have to remove the encasing repeatedly with accidents, so now I'll only have to remove the mattress pad and then when I do spring cleaning etc... can remove the encasing. I love these products, I also have the pillow encasings as well. At some point I will order a set for my guest bed, right now I just have a cheap one on it.

•   gina - 1/7/10 9:44 am I have these on all 3 of my children's mattress to help with their eczema due to dust mites. They have had "accidents" in bed and it has not leaked through. We also saw an improvement in their eczema.
