- Please see the Owner's Manual tab for full instructions on changing the HEPA filter(s) in your Vornado air purifier.
General:
- Replace the HEPA filter(s) every 12 months with continuous use, depending upon your environment. Vornado AC and PCO series air purifiers will alert you when it's time to replace the filter(s) by illuminating an indicator on the unit's control panel after 9,000 hours of run time (about a year). Below, please find the number of HEPA filters used in these models:
Air Purifier Model # of HEPA Filters Required AC300 1 AC500 2 PCO200 1 PCO300 2 PCO500 2 - Remember that the filter's service life is related to the volume of air that passes through the purifier and the amount of contaminants in the air. If your indoor air has unusually high levels of airborne particulates or contaminants, the filter's service life may be shortened.
- Replace the HEPA filter(s) if you notice a significant drop in air flow or if the filter media is excessively darkened.
- Regular maintenance helps to prolong the life of the HEPA filter(s). Keep the area surrounding the air purifier clean. Also, periodically vacuum the air intake grilles (plus the Permanent Pre-Filter(s) in PCO models) with your vacuum's brush attachment, and be sure to change the Advanced Carbon Pre-Filter(s) approximately once a year.
- Do NOT immerse the HEPA filters in water ‒ they are NOT washable.
